I believe in documenting what's right in front of me, capturing the beauty of the moment as it unfolds. I pay attention to the small details, noticing the subtle expressions and fleeting interactions that make each scene unique. My approach is to take it all in as it is, embracing the authenticity and rawness of every situation to tell your story to the fullest.

DOCUMENTING WHAT'S

about the artist

MEET
RACHAEL

After graduating with a degree in Communications and Business Administration and starting my first job, I quickly realized that I could not spend my days behind a desk. Since then, I’ve moved to the world of education and photography…which is why you’re here. I fell in love with photography as a way to capture the beauty in every part of life - the ups, the downs, the in-betweens.

I have a passion for animals, the ocean, mixed martial arts, quiet mornings, and spontaneous trips to somewhere new on the map. Even when I’m not taking pictures, I try to appreciate the artful and honest moments in my life. My days are spent working with middle schoolers in special education, training in Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu, editing photos, and finding little moments to relax. My inspiration comes from nature and the extraordinary people around me. The stories we all tell, the good and the bad, inspire me to capture life as it is - real, authentic, and beautiful.

in my scrapbook...

I'm a sentimental person. It's because of this that I keep every picture, handwritten note, postcard, sticker, polaroid, etc...that comes into my life. It's probably to a fault, but this is where my passion lies. Preserving memories. How can you trust me to capture your memories if I don't even hold onto mine?

Each item that I keep brings me right back to that moment. Whether that's roaming around Puerto Rico, exploring New York, or just eating ice cream at a local shop, I want to remember it all.

MY PHILOSOPHY

Photos are everything. Life is so short, and photos help us preserve the memories of all of life’s moments and our loved ones. I remember being at my grandpa's funeral and seeing photos I had never seen before. Those images captured his spirit so well, bringing back cherished memories and emotions. I have a deep love for old photos because they capture a moment in time, reminding us of what’s changed and who we are. Ever since even before I was born, my dad would take pictures of us - Every. Day. It’s because of him that I have such a passion and true love for taking pictures. I love the fact that I’m capturing tangible memories that we can hold onto forever.

I want to gift my clients what my dad gave me my entire life.
