I'm a Boston-based wedding photographer who believes your photos should feel as real as the day itself. I shoot on both film and digital — drawn to the warmth of film, the weight of a moment, the things people forget to pose for.

Outside of photography, you'll find me on the mats teaching jiu jitsu, chasing good light somewhere new, rewatching a great film, or hunting down really good food. I'm inspired by the quiet moments between people — a glance across the room, a hand squeeze during vows, the way your best friend laughs at your worst joke. Those are the things I'm always watching for.

I got into photography because I fell in love with the feeling of a photograph — how it can pull you back to a moment so completely it feels like you never left. That's what I want to give you.

About Rachael Shek Photography

siblings night out at a like moths to flames concert. First time I crowdsurfed!

romeo + juliet on broadway with my sister, emma. best day ever!

I've been taking pictures for as long as I can remember. Even before I realized that I could make this my job, this was truly my passion. Inspired first by my dad, I took pictures of my friends and family just living life. I was so in love with the art of documentation, that I wanted to help everyone remember. Having a camera in my hands was a way for me to capture the beauty in every part of my life, which led me to doing the same thing with so many couples.

I am passionate about animals, the ocean, mixed martial arts, quiet mornings, and spontaneous trips to somewhere new on the map. Even when I’m not taking pictures, I try to appreciate the artful and honest moments in my life. When I’m not documenting or editing, I spend my time training and teaching Jiu Jitsu, exploring local coffee shops, and spending time with my boyfriend and cat (and probably binging the latest show on Netflix). My inspiration comes from nature and the extraordinary people around me.

Driven by Connection & Nostalgia

I'm a sentimental person. It's because of this that I keep every picture, handwritten note, postcard, sticker, polaroid, etc...that comes into my life. It's probably to a fault, but this is where my passion lies. Preserving memories. How can you trust me to capture your memories if I don't even hold onto mine?

Each item that I keep brings me right back to that moment. Whether that's roaming around Puerto Rico, exploring New York, or just eating ice cream at a local shop, I want to remember it all.
